link click with selenium
« on: July 24, 2012, 06:23:44 PM »
Hello,

Selenium is able to identify the link by highlighting it but, it's not able to click on the link. I did try using click, doubleClick, keyPress, mouseDown, etc.
Nothing is working apart from highlight. When I analyzed through the firebug, a class 'flyoff' is changing to 'flyon' when clicked on the link. Page has used JQuery.
Is there anyway to extend selenium for the jquery?
Thanks a lot in advance!!

Regards,
NiL

Have you asked your development team what event causes the class to change?

If you are using Selenium RC you could use a partial xpath match? I think the xpath would be something like

"//a[contains(@class, 'flyo')]"

That should hopefully match the link regardless of its class being "flyoff" or "flyon"

Hope that helps
