Memory problem
« on: April 15, 2012, 05:04:15 PM »
Running WebDriver tests in IE9  for a long while I often recieved an
IE error: "Internet Explorer has stopped working". There are an
exception 0xC0000005 in windows event log and memory that the process
claim is more than 1,5 Gb, so I think that that is the point.
How can I avoid the problem not cutting my tests shorter?

The crash is arising out of IEDriver.dll and it is very consistent.

I have a bunch of unit tests that run for my framework, which works fine on
Chrome and Firefox, but it crashes only for IE.

I am running on a 32bit JDK (1.7) on Windows 2008 advanced Server with IE
 8. I am relying on Selenium 2.19.0.

I will try and see if I can create a sample testcase and provide a sample
webpage that can simulate this problem since I wouldnt be in a position to
share my unit tests which is tightly coupled with the framework on which I
 work.

Thanks & Regards

In QTP, after seen that IE crashes a lot, we, after every 1 hour,
logout and login to the application (if functional testing).
Or, we minimize the browser after every 20 minutes.
So, IE consumed less memory. Otherwise, it ate a lot of our memory (if
we execute qtp scripts for 4-7 hours in a single attempt).
