Automation execution
« on: March 29, 2012, 01:15:54 PM »
Hi,

I'm looking for a tool for automation the execution of test cases developed
using WebDrive. Anyone know of any tool for this?

I tried to use Hudson but I didn't have successes.

Thanks

We use JUnit to drive the tests, which is executed by Ant which is
 kicked off by Hudson.  :-)
I imagine any of the standard 'automation' tools tools like Ant,
maven...would be able to kick off your tests pretty easily.  All of
these tools integrate pretty easily with Hudson too.

What language are you writing the tests in?

I'm using Java and JUnit but I want a tool where I could have the
informations about the result of test more easily than a prompt or something
like that. I want the informations graphic to pass to others people out of
 my work cell.

BUT, Hudson doesn't design for that... it's my point =/ (run test cases
 ONLY).

Thanks :-)

Luis,
If you use Ant (or Maven, Gradle, Gant, etc) to run your build from
within Hudson, as part of a free-style build, then you can easily
configure the Hudson JUnit plugin to find and parse the TEST-*.xml
 files that JUnit produces.
Once you've done that, Hudson will display a graph of test results
over time on the front page for the build job.

You'll find a lot more information on the Hudson wiki; this is really
a Hudson configuration issue rather than a Webdriver question.

or use TestNG instead of JUnit and generate HTML reports (with or without
 ReportNG).
